The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly-skilled Java Software Engineer to join us. At Worldline our technology addresses the persistent challenges of the payment world. The team
Our team works from different countries, the Netherlands, Sweden, India, and Portugal. We have many hardworking and dedicated peers that would love for you to work with them. You will be part of one of the squads of the Technology department, which consists of developers, test automation engineers, a scrum master, and a product owner, supported by solution architects, Continuous delivery managers, and DevOps engineers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include
With your squad, you will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, by exercising an agile attitude using Scrum, with a focus on continuous improvement and short feedback loops.
You will build and deploy the applications using pipelines, and as we are currently in the middle of a DevOps transformation, previous DevOps experience is considered a plus.
You use your excellent communication skills and the team-oriented attitude to have frequent calls with teams located in other Worldline offices, Offshore teams, and collaborate with different partners in engineering, product, business, and operations.


Skills we can't do without
Bachelor or Master's degree, in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or Information Systems.
Proven working experience in sophisticated environments in a similar position.
Significant experience with Java.
Experience in building web services using REST, Swagger, and AWS.
Previous work experience in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).
Knowledge of CI/CD tools, preferably GitLab.
Understanding of databases with proven experience in SQL and Oracle.
Knowledge of unit testing. Knowledge of test automation tools is a plus.
Knowledge of caching mechanisms and message queues.
Good knowledge of Linux (RedHat 7).


Skills we'd like
Being a Good teammate and communicator with a flexible, customer-focused attitude.
Experience working in a DevOps environment is considered an advantage.
Experience in the financial industry and/or e-commerce business is an advantage.
