Key Responsibilities
Working in a team with senior and very experienced developers, we expect you to initially focus most of your energy on learning. With support from your team, you will be working primarily with back-end development, and gradually be able to do more and more significant contributions to our business. Your day-to-day tasks will vary and change over time, but will typically include:
• Database modelling and implementation, back-end development in C# (and over time other languages)
• Implementation of streaming microservices and message brokers using Kafka, Active MQ and other frameworks
• Cloud first deployments including serverless configurations
• Testing and deployment mechanics (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps)
• 3rd line expert support and maintenance
Your Background
For this position we are looking for talent and curiosity rather than experience. You may even come directly from university (with shining grades in programming courses) or have 1-3 years of experience and track record from a similar job. A keen interest and a track record in some of the following areas will make you stand out in the recruitment process:
• Databases, SQL, MongoDB
• JavaScript
• Back-end development using .net, C#, node.js or C++
• Microservice Architectures
• Cloud - AWS or Azure - and associated tools
• DevOps tools and principles, using tools like Docker, Kubernetes
Don't worry too much if you can't cover all the above bullets - here in IT at Alektum Group we'll set you on a fast track to master these and other technologies we use.
The Team
Our team, IT Development, currently consists of 8 developers, responsible for full stack development of our Internal IT systems. We work agile with joint responsibility not only for new development, but also for maintenance and 3rd line expert support. We adhere to DevOps principles. As individuals we are all very different of course but are all very engaged in how to drive value with software in our highly competitive FinTech business. We like and take time to explore new technologies and we also understand the importance of camaraderie and sound worklife balance.
