As our quest to democratise financial services continues at blazing speed, Zettle's POS Alliance is looking for a passionate Software Engineer with a great deal of experience and a truly Agile mindset to join our Connect Area.
In this role, you will be part of an innovative team co-tackling a wide variety of challenges together with a group of talented people driven by a shared ambition to create hassle-free solutions for our sellers. Easy, right?
A glimpse of what you will get here
With a high focus on building and improving the Zettle by PayPal partner ecosystem, you will be part of shaping and supporting our area of partner integrations. You will be working in an area with the purpose to help our merchants and partners succeed with quality integrations to the Zettle by PayPal platform.
Today, the team is responsible for our accounting integrations that we build together with our Middleware partners. The team builds and maintains the backend service of the integrations, as well as the user interfaces in the Zettle Back-Office. We are also in charge of improving the frontend and backend flows and user experience to make our integration offering even better.
As a software engineer with focus on our integrations, your main responsibility will be to ensure the technical quality of the variety of integrations that are being offered by us. Additionally, we also hope to see you having the right mindset and skillset in shaping the integration guidelines & standards to help our partners and merchants in their integration journey to Zettle and PayPal. This is a new position and we believe that we will form the role with you along the way.
The skills and mindset we are looking for are:
Someone who could be the bridge and technical go-to person for partners as well as the PayPal internal integration service teams.
Someone that holds the end-to-end responsibility for the tech quality of our integrations.
Someone who has strong technical knowledge and is happy to handle technical and architectural discussions with our Middleware partners and other stakeholders.
Someone who is interested in driving solution design and technical discussions as part of your daily work.
Someone who can communicate technical information in a clear and understandable way to stakeholders.
Someone with good technical skills to be able to do their own exploratory investigation of our system / APIs.
The skills to succeed
Java and/or Kotlin programming experience.
Knowledge in building and maintaining quality, standardized, RESTful APIs.
SQL (PostgreSQL)
Experience with microservices architecture.
Writing automated tests (integration/system tests, contract tests, etc.).
Earn bonus points with...
Knowledge/experience in the area of accounting / bookkeeping platforms or software.
Swagger / OpenAPI / "API-first" experience.
AWS (SNS / SQS, EC2, ECS, RDS, API gateway, etc.)
GraphQL (we use GraphQL for internal APIs).
Terraform.
Dropwizard.
Docker.
UNIX (shell, ssh, git, etc.)
Integration patterns.
