Primarily, MVV:s customers are in the areas of automotive, oil/gas and robotics/automation.

Position description:

Software Design task leader (GDL/KU) within Interior light and functional parts

Describe the group:
The group 93526 Interior light and functional parts consists of 15 skilled engineers and the group is responsible for the development of interior light components, deco parts on the door panel including branded speaker grilles, inner door opener, electrical sun curtain and electrical load cover.

As the group is responsible for components with electrical HW and SW we need to strengthen our team by adding a new position SW Design task leader mainly for OHC, Overhead console, but also for interior light and electrical load cover and electrical sun curtain areas.

Main responsibilities

• Work together with the task leader responsible for the components OHC-overhead console, interior light, electrical sun curtain and electrical load cover. The Software Design task leader will be responsible for the SW but will also contribute within the area of electrical HW.
• Lead supplier in developing OHC, interior light, electrical sun curtain and load cover software.
• Support system and function responsible in creating OHC interior light, electrical sun curtain and load cover system solution and SW requirements.
• Create and maintain the software interfaces, e.g. delegate ports and associated attributes.
• Lead the validation and consistency check the software design.
• Create diagnosis requirements for OHC and interior lights, electrical sun curtain and load cover.
• Create calibration strategy and requirements.

Project management

• Provide the Software statement of work, SWSOW (part of engineering statement of work, ESOW).
• Ensure that the SWSOW Compliance matrix is agreed upon with supplier.
• Create project plan in LEQM.
• Component part of the function implementation plan (FIP).
• Handle software defect reports in issue management systems.
• Carry out software joint reviews (SW Joint Review).
• Certify that all deliveries are available at the right level, at the right time according to the software component plan in LEQM, and that they fulfil VCC-standards.
• Carry out software delivery control (SW Delivery Control).
• Follow up on component test activities.
• Create and update the Software Engineering Journal (SWEJ).
• Release software through the CRB process. Knowledge sharing
• Contribute in system solution discussions (Responsible role: System Designer).
• Contribute in system FMEA (Responsible role: System Designer).
• Contribute in formal inspections of subsystem design (Responsible role: System Designer).
• Contribute to the build-up of experience, by participating in developing of technology strategy within the area of competence.

Requirements management

• Review and handle incoming requirements, e.g. base-tech requirements, cross-product requirements, and requirements from logical design.
• Generate and deliver Software requirements specification (SWRS) to suppliers.
• Ensure that SWRS is formally inspected.

Responsibility

• Define and develop software components that fulfils the requirements from technical, quality, time and cost perspective.
• Plan, implement and follow-up the development of software components from both internal and external component suppliers.
• Make sure that software components are verified together with component testers and/or component suppliers.
• Maintain and evolve software components across projects and vehicles.

• ECU software objects in Elektra
• Diagnosis information in Carcom
• The ECU Functional Implementation plan (FIP)
• The Software statement of work (SWSOW)
• Software component plan in LEQM
• Software Engineering Journal (SWEJ)
• Software files (VBF-files)
• Simulink models (if required)

Competence Requirements

• Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of developing software.
• Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of developing electrical HW.
• Competence in relevant tools, processes, and workflows within Volvo Cars is meritorious.
• Experience from working with suppliers.

Personal qualities

• Strong project management skills, ability to drive tasks towards goals and deliver on time
• Organised, structured and able to handle many tasks simultaneously and to take decisions
• Eager to work in a group and to cooperate with other people
• Self starter and highly motivated to take up challenging tasks
• Customer oriented
