Voyado Elevate already has a powerful and proven search engine. Now, we are adding an intelligent layer on top, an AI-driven Product Discovery Agent for Search that transforms how users interact with products, navigation, and intent.
As a new team, you will be part of shaping our ways of working, defining our architecture, and setting the technical roadmap for how AI agents should integrate with and enhance our search platform.
About the Role and day-to-day
This role sits at the intersection of backend development, AI engineering, and product innovation.
As a subsystem team in an organization inspired by Team Topologies, we collaborate closely with other product teams while owning the AI Product Discovery layer. Our mission is to build intelligent agents that orchestrate search recommendations and navigation, interpret user intent, and create a completely new discovery interface experience.
The role involves hands-on development, writing code primarily in Java and/or Python, and designing and orchestrating AI agents. You will work with prompt engineering and structured output optimization to ensure high-quality, reliable results, while building smart integrations between LLMs and our search engine.
A key part of the work is continuously improving response times and reducing inference costs to create scalable and efficient solutions. You will also contribute to the technical roadmap and architectural decisions, proactively prototype new ideas, and evaluate emerging AI technologies to ensure we stay at the forefront of innovation.

Some of the things you and the team will be up to:
Design and build AI agents for search and product discovery, using Java and/or Python.
Work hands-on with prompt engineering and continuous optimization
Map agent logic towards our existing search infrastructure
Optimize for latency, scalability, and cost-efficiency (LLM usage, orchestration, caching, etc.)
Evaluate new technologies in a rapidly evolving AI landscape
Contribute to architecture discussions and long-term technical direction
Write production-grade code and monitor performance in real environments
Design and implement APIs

So, who are you?
You don't just follow AI trends, you actively build with them. Agentic coding is already a natural part of how you develop software, and collaborating with LLMs feels as intuitive as writing code yourself. Writing prompts to generate, refactor, and reason about code is a natural extension of your engineering workflow.
At the same time, your interest goes beyond just experimenting as you thrive on building real products. You enjoy turning ideas into robust, production-ready systems and combining AI-native development patterns with solid software engineering principles.
And since this is a newly formed team, you're excited not only to build the product but also to shape how we build it, driving evaluation frameworks, testing strategies for LLM-based systems, and establishing pragmatic, high-quality ways of working for AI-driven development.
Besides those personal skills, we believe you have the following:
A Master's degree in Computer Science, or a comparable industry career
Strong backend development experience
Practical experience working with LLMs and AI APIs
Experience or strong interest in prompt engineering and agent design
An understanding of performance optimization and cost-aware system design
And most importantly, passion for what you do, innovation & continuous improvement
