The role and who we are looking for:
As a Software Engineer at Ooyala, you would join a team that is dedicated to designing, building and monitoring in cutting edge technologies. We practice Agile development and rely on practices such as TDD, code reviews, continuous integration and continuous deployment.
Our development teams work in an autonomous fashion, performing all steps of software development, from architecting to deployment, by themselves. The teams constantly evaluate themselves and the processes, trying to find better ways of doing things and help each other improve.
We're absolutely convinced that in order to be really good at something, you need to truly enjoy doing it. We aim to create an inspiring workplace and believe that a great atmosphere plays an important role in bringing out the very best in every individual.
Most importantly, you are an outstanding software developer with a deep interest and experience in technology and infrastructure. Furthermore, we insist that you have a passion for what you do and a hunger for learning new things. We constantly evaluate and try to better ourselves. We expect you to do the same and - just as important - help others improve as well.
You have at least a few years of experience in architecting and building distributed systems processing large volumes of data.
All meetings and written communication are in English. Swedish is not a requirement.
