Software Engineer - Java
KP Wood AB (a subsidiary of KP Wood Ltd.) is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong Java and Object-Oriented background to join our growing software development team. KP Wood AB delivers software solutions for wood production, sales, distribution, shipping and related industries.
As a Software Engineer at KP Wood AB you will work in a multinational environment to create software solutions specific to our customers' needs. You will design end-to-end applications applying the latest technologies to create innovative solutions. You will be responsible for building and maintaining software products and integrating with other 3rd party applications and services.
The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments, create high quality code, communicate effectively, find creative solutions to complex problems and be deadline oriented. The ability to function at a high level in a fast paced environment across multiple time zones is essential.
Job responsibilities:
• Perfect fluency in the Swedish language is required.
• Design, develop and test web, desktop and enterprise applications
• Review and analyze business requirements and develop prototypes
• Design components using Object Oriented methodology
• Interact with customers, marketing and development teams
• Create technical documentation such as design documents, guidelines, and manuals
• Regularly communicate with team on project progress, issues, and risks
• Work independently and in a team environment
• Travel within Sweden and to Canadian headquarters
Job requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 3-5 years of professional software development experience
• At least 3 years of experience developing UI and/or enterprise applications using Java
• Strong Object Oriented design skills, familiarity with design patterns
• Experience with Java, J2EE and other related technologies such as Swing/AWT, EJB, Servlets, JDBC, XML, XSL, SQL, SOA, etc.
• Experience working with relational databases and application servers
• Experience in large-scale software development and systems integration
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Self motivated and quick learner
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet aggressive deadlines
• English language ability, both spoken and written
Additional qualities:
• Interest in the wood industry
• Excellent skills in customer interaction and working in a consultative environment
• Proven ability to develop technical solutions within schedule constraints
Location: Stockholm
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
