We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our dynamic team, dedicated to advancing IKEA's digital infrastructure and capabilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust data pipelines to support our analytics and decision-making processes. We operate within a dynamic environment, leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and best-in-class tools to drive data-driven insights and solutions.
Our ideal candidate possesses the following attributes:
Strong proficiency in Software Development with Agile methodology, with focus on designing, building and maintaining scalable, secure and performant applications that transform large volumes of data.
Strong experience with GCP
Proficiency in a mix of the following: Java, NodeJS, React and Python, commonly used in application development.
Good understanding of frameworks like Java Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Exception Handling, Collections etc.
Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture or Microservice based Architecture with RESTful Web Services.
Good understanding of application and cloud security.
Understanding of testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito or similar with Test/Behavior Driven Development approach.
Familiarity with DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment of data pipelines, including version control systems like Git.
A day in your life with us
As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable applications to support secure transfer of data, analytics and reporting applications. In agile methodology with daily scrum.
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop solutions that address business needs. Also need to provide support when there is any production incident.
Leveraging cloud-based data processing technologies, such as Google Cloud Platform, to build efficient and reliable data pipelines.
Implementing best practices for data quality, reliability, and performance optimisation.
Contributing to the automation of data pipeline deployment and monitoring using DevOps practices and tools.
Participating in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and continuous learning activities to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.
