For one of his clients Randstad Professionals is looking for a Software Engineering Development Manager.
The software engineering Development manager is responsible for leading a team of approximately 10 software engineers and managing the delivery of a software product with 10 further staff developing the product in other international locations.
This role works closely with the Skelleftea based technical product manager, UK based QA manager and other international development managers to deliver a quality software product on time and within budget.
This role reports to the European Software Director who is based in the UK.
There are three dimensions to the role
• project management and product delivery
• staff management, recruitment and retention
• budget control along with general office and environment management.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Educated to at least BSc level (or equivalent experience)
At least 3 years in a software engineering leadership position within a technical or scientific software development team.
Expert in modern software development methods and tools
Experience of managing change within a highly technical software organisation to improve on time delivery and quality.
Strong experience of planning and delivering complex software projects on-time and to budget
At least 5 years of software programming in modern object oriented language ideally in a Microsoft environment using C#.
At least 5 years experience of software product delivery.
Must have strong written and spoken English.
Strong communication skills
Ability to understand business goals and to work independently with minimal supervision to deliver those goals
The ideal candidate will have worked in an engineering environment and ideally have experience of developing computer aided design software
Software architecture and design skills would be an advantage.
