Would you like to develop software that helps our customer in their effort to meet with environmental targets and avoid power outages? Are you interested in microservices, containers, cloud hosting, C and C++ programming or maybe user interface programming in C#?
We are looking for three Software Developers to join our Scrum team.
You will be part of ABB's Network Control unit that provides leading network management and control systems for planned and unplanned outage management, generation, transmission and distribution management systems, SCADA and process control solutions.
The unit also provides commercial energy portfolio management tools for planning, forecasting and running your day-to-day operations. Offerings comprise a broad range of solutions to address the most critical needs of utility and power companies.
Tasks:
In this role you will work with all stages of software development in an agile process, from requirement to final product. This includes architecture, requirement breakdown and unit testing.
Your will work with new development using modern technologies and changes in architecture for a future platform. We expect you to be able to analyze and understand customer requirements, input from product management and other stakeholders, and based on this define the best solution in close collaboration with the software architects. You will provide the design approach and your tasks will also include development of unit tests and writing documentation.
You will need to keep up to date with new technologies and architecture principles and apply them to our products.
The positions are located in Västerås.
Requirements:
To succeed in the role, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar.
As we are looking for three Software Developers, we expect you to have one of the following profiles:
• Proficiency in C#, C++ and Windows
• Proficiency in C, C++ and Linux
• Extensive experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL
Since you will be working in a global, multicultural environment, we expect you to be proficient in written and spoken English.
On the personal level, you are driven, structured and analytical with high sense of responsibility and commitment. You are a fast learner, enjoy interacting with customers and have a strong focus on quality.
