The lighting industry has gone through some exciting changes, with more on the horizon. With the transition from conventional light sources to LEDs, as well as continued improvements to energy efficiency through intelligent control systems, the next such change is at our doorstep; connected products and systems that are ushering in new opportunities for municipalities, property owners, fitters, end users and manufacturers. With the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected products, new demands have been placed on the organisation in terms of new competencies within the electronics and IT sector. In order to take the next step in this evolution, Fagerhult is establishing a development team within R&D to focus on software development, with the mandate to develop the company's upcoming offering within connectivity.
The development team is responsible for all development related to Fagerhult's ecosystem, including electronic design, software development for embedded systems, apps, cloud and data analysis services. As the team is under construction, you will be given a large amount of freedom to shape and influence the upcoming offering and associated technological choices and solutions. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with product management (Connectivity Hub) for control systems and connected products, with technologies, solutions and new business models counting as important parts of the work. Furthermore, the team is expected to work in a cross-functional environment within the company to ensure good integration with other activities and to continuously maintain and further develop the offering.

Whichever role you choose to apply for from these three, we expect you to have a general understanding of the complete system and to possesses a specific interest and specialisation in one of the areas.
For all roles, you will have a college/university degree in software development
In the role as back-end developer, we expect you to have experience/qualifications in
• Programming in Java and JavaScript
• Experience in the development and administration of cloud services such as AWS or Azure
• Experience in the development of APIs
• Experience in the development of web services
• Experience of working in DevOps teams
• Development of services based on data analysis is advantageous
In the role as app developer, we expect you to have experience/qualifications in
• Development for iOS and Android (Native and cross-platform)
• Experience in development with BLE communication
• Experience of working in DevOps teams
• Experience of work with and development of connected systems/cloud services is advantageous
• Interest in graphic design is a plus
For those applying for the role of embedded developer, we expect that you have experience/education in
• Programming i C
• Reading and understanding electrical schematics
• Experience in development with wireless technologies, preferably bluetooth
• Experience of working in DevOps teams
• Experience of work with and development of connected systems is advantageous
• Knowledge of multiple languages such as C++, JAVA, Python is advantageous
In these roles, you will be involved from the beginning and will play a part in developing and documenting working methods, development processes, etc. The development of automated tests and test environments is also an integral part of the work.
