hela Sverige You will be part of Crane Systems in Västerås. ABB's business for crane systems assists ports and shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, fast and cost efficient way. Crane Systems is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in Europe, Asia and North America.
In a modern container terminal there are remotely controlled Ship-To-Shore cranes, which handle the loading/off-loading of the container ships. These are in the storage yard supported by stacking cranes, robotized cranes weighing hundreds of tons, which automatically move and with high precision stack the containers. The operation of all the cranes is controlled from a central control room in order to optimize the productivity of the terminal.
We are now looking for a software developer within the area of streaming video/image processing, who wants a challenging job in the rapidly growing market of robotic crane systems. You will be working in an environment with world-class technology and international customers.
As a developer at Crane Systems, you will work with technically advanced products with high development rate. The increasingly automated systems in modern container terminals are driving more and more camera-based solutions and advanced image processing. You will be part of a group that develop the crane's control and automation systems. The group responsibilities are: control engineering, software development and various types of sensor technologies. Your tasks will be to work with the group to develop the video streaming architecture and new camera concepts. The work also includes verifying solutions by simulations and site tests.
As we provide more and more complete solutions and tools, the customers' demands are increasing, which leads our R&D level to higher innovation, both in terms of technology and functionality. Since the majority of our customers are located abroad, you will have the opportunity to travel.
You have a Masters in Computer Science or similar. In addition, it is meriting if you have work experience from sensor systems and are familiar with the following tools and methods C/C++, SLAM, SFM, OpenCV, CUDA / OpenCL, Visual Studio, Matlab, Boost, TDD, Unit Testing. System design and architecture experience is a plus.
As you will have many international contacts, it is important, that you are fluent in English, both oral and written. Additional languages are considered as advantage. You are a person who enjoys both working in a team and on your own. Naturally, you will combine this with a strong technology interest. We prefer that you have a few years of working experience, but you can also be in the beginning of your career. Most importantly, you come in with great motivation and a desire to learn new things and deepen your knowledge.
