Ericsson Mobile Platforms is headquartered in Lund, Sweden, where a majority of the company's approximately 3000 co-workers are located. We also have operations in China, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, South Korea, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The research and development unit in Lund, Sweden is now looking for an addition to our talented team of UMTS software designers. You will be part of the Common Access Software team, working with layer 3 protocols for handling connections and data over different network access technologies such as WCDMA, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMA.
As a member of the Common Access Software team you will work with connection and mobility management according to the Non-Access Stratum (NAS) part of the UMTS/3GPP standard. You will take part in all development steps, including analysis, design, coding, test and maintenance.
As part of the team you will also help supporting our customers in developing successful mobile phones by providing analysis support, trouble shooting and sometimes on site support.
The team today consists of talented engineers with several years of experience. The team atmosphere is characterized by a very friendly and helpful attitude and a common sense of responsibility. After a few years of working in this team you will gain a very good system overview and understanding of the mobile its self and the network architecture.
Our mobile platforms are state-of-the-art embedded systems using in-house developed ASIC's and software. Our development environment is Windows based, however the target is an embedded system. The programming language used is C.
We work in a global and challenging environment in close co-operation with other departments and Ericsson sites, which requires good communication skills. As a person you must be structured, motivated to learn and used to work according to established processes.
We are looking for a software engineer with competence in:
C programming language
Embedded software and communication protocol development
Communication skills in English, both verbal and in writing
Strong problem-solving analysis skills and very quality-conscious
Specialist knowledge within programming
The ability to work well with other people and is outgoing and socially active in a professional context
Master of Science in Computer Science, Electronics or equivalent
It is not required, but seen as an additional qualification if you have previous experience from working with UMTS NAS (Non-Access Stratum) protocols.
