Organization
e-Power Nordic AB (ePower) was established in 2011 by Kongsberg Automotive and Swedish electronics company QRTECH. Earlier this year Kongsberg Automotive decided to increase its commitment to and capabilities within electric- and hybrid powertrains by acquiring 100% ownership in ePower. QRTECH continuously engage as ePower's long term partner.
ePower aims to excel in the field of power electronics, meeting stringent requirements regarding quality, low weight and high power density. Combined with Kongsberg Automotives track record and full in-house electronics manufacturing capabilities, ePower aims to become a preferred supplier in an immature, but very attractive market. ePower has a unique and tight-knit team of electronics and mechanical engineers who work in parallel with production engineers, enabling fast performance and short lead times. Almost all work is done in-house, including prototypes.

Kongsberg Automotive provides world class products to the global vehicle industry. Our products enhance the driving experience, making it safer, more comfortable and sustainable. The company, with total revenues of approximately one billion Euros, is headquartered in Kongsberg, Norway and has more than 10.000 employees in 20 countries worldwide.

Job profile
The Software Developer / Algorithm Expert is a key role in the development of power electronics products. It is overall responsible for developing software and control functionality for optimal power function and power performance. The role will imply some travel in the support of sales, marketing and customer project activities. Customer interaction both for marketing of our software abilities as well as to clarify and fully understand our customer's interests are required.

Areas of responsibility
• Jointly, as a part of the ePower team, develop unique knowledge about power electronics for hybrid and electrical drivelines for the automotive industry. Great products to emerge from that team interaction.

• Follow the Knowledge Based Development (KBD) process used by Kongsberg Automotive. KBD has similarities to both Scrum and Agile. KBD a 'test first, then design' methodology, with a simple structure of concurrent, similar blocks (sprints). Big blocks - system designs - are made from smaller blocks - sub-system designs.

• Making the software of ePower products, the algorithms controlling the power electronics is the major work. Get optimization of function, safety and performance of the switching and inductive components vs. environment impact. Controlling current and voltage and protecting the unit against changed conditions from mains, cooling etc.

• Test and validation of software as proof of concept.

• Order (as opposed to chaos) emerges for software development, through the interaction of certain types of systems. Most such systems are unpredictable. Variance is the nature of software development, but also - very important -the foundation of value creation. The Software Developer / Algorithm Expert responsibility must be to continually learn so that order can arise.
