Job Description
At the Bosch R&D center in Lund we focus on the Android Automotive operating system (
https://developers.google.com/cars). We work with the integration of Android on next generation vehicle computers powering car infotainment systems for passenger cars. These systems are increasingly becoming a vital part of the driver/passenger experience with richer functionality with service and application integration like navigation, entertainment, and many use cases. Google provides Android open source for cars and the Lund team makes adoptions for underlying layers, extends and adds additional services/apps from 3rd parties. The coming Bosch vehicle computers (
https://www.bosch-mobility-solutions.com/en/highlights/connected-mobility/vehicle-computer/)combine the infotainment with the instrument cluster and other systems. These powerful computers run virtualized systems to ensure a secure, reliable platform software framework which is automotive graded.
• Participate in every stage of the software development from requirement analysis, design and implementation, to module and system verification.
• Adopt underlying layers (HALs) for Android Automotive OS to run on Bosch hardware.
• Bring up new releases from Google and SoC vendors.
• Build prototypes and demonstrators for fares and acquisitions.
Qualifications
The Android Automotive team in Lund participates in customer projects and govern the Android source, but the team is also part of early work with prototypes and demonstrators for fares and customer acquisitions. This opens for both technical depth and broad scope for the team who works in all layers from hardware abstraction up to Android applications - your knowledge about, and interest in, Android and Linux systems is highly valued.
• Master/Bachelor in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Experience from software development on embedded Linux systems.
• Knowledge about the Android framework and HAL is valued.
• C/C++ and experience of agile development and continuous Integration.
