Job description
The research and development unit in Lund, Sweden is now looking for an addition to our talented team of UMTS software designers. You will be part of the Layer 2 & 3 Access Software department; working with leading-edge telecommunication technologies.You will support new releases of the 3GPP specifications and features such as HSPA, HSPA evolved and LTE.
As a member of the department you will be actively involved in system work, implementation, integration, test and maintenance of our 3GPP based network signaling software. You will be using C and Rose RT as development tools. You will also be responsible for that the implementation fulfils internal requirements as well as 3GPP standard requirements.
Our mobile platforms are state-of-the-art embedded systems using in-house developed ASIC?s and software. Our development environment is Windows based, however the target is an embedded system. The programming language used is C.
We work in a global and challenging environment in close co-operation with other departments and ST-Ericsson sites, which requires good communication skills. As a person you must be structured, motivated to learn and used to work according to established processes.
Competence
We are looking for a software engineer with:
Master of science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or similar.
Good communications skills in English, both verbal and in writing
Design and development experience of 3GPP UMTS layer 2&3 protocols (preferably WCDMA, LTE and/or NAS)
High competence in C-programming in an RTOS environment
Strong focus on results and an interest in exploring new areas
Customer focus
Ability to work independently and in teams
Ability to handle parallel tasks
Be a fast learner and able to work in a changing environment.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills
