As Software Developer at Crane System you will play a vital part in our growth. You will be part of Crane Systems in Västerås. ABB 's business for crane systems assists ports and shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost efficient way. Crane Systems is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in Europe, Asia and North America. In a modern container terminal there are remotely controlled Ship-To-Shore cranes, which handle the loading/off-loading of the container ships. These are in the storage yard supported by stacking cranes, robotized cranes weighing hundreds of tons, which automatically move and with high precision stack the containers. The operation of all the cranes is controlled from a central control room in order to optimize the productivity of the terminal.
Tasks:
As Software Developer, you will play a vital part in our team responsible for developing software for our Crane Information Management System; the system operating as bridge between cranes and customers. You will work in an agile software team that mainly delivers graphical user applications. Your main missions will be to manage software development and system design - in Delphi, C# and Java. Given our global customers, you will also be provided the chance to travel internationally.
Requirements:
Would you describe yourself as a customer and result focused person with a systematic thinking, great learning focus and the ability to take initiative? If so, you might be our perfect match.
As a foundation, you hold a university degree with specialization in Computer Science or equivalent. Experience from SQL databases and Delphi programming is highly valued, as is general process industry experience. Fluency in English is a must, whereas additional languages are advantageous.
