alaTest helps consumers and companies keep track of product reviews, as they are published around the world. We analyze and structure reviews to give immediate insights into the opinions of consumers and experts. Companies use our services to objectively inform their visitors on the quality of their products and our review insights to understand customer feedback and market trends.
Consumers can visit our websites, currently in 18 countries and languages, to decide what products are the best for them. alaTest?s award winning review analysis technology aggregates, structures and analyses every day millions of product reviews from more than 3,000 international websites and magazines.
About you
You are comfortable with and interested in shared ownership of code, agile development, and open source technologies. You have interest in both development of data delivery solutions and database development and administration. As a person, you are motivated by developing creative solutions with innovative technology, you like to take responsibility and show initiative, and are comfortable in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. You take a pragmatic approach to problem solving, but always maintain a strong focus on quality.

Responsibilities:
• Develop robust software and designs
• Maintain and further refine our database and technical platform
• Problem solving and performance tuning in SQL and Python
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies with a view to introducing new development techniques and tools that improve alaTest practices
• Proactively solve client issues
Requirements:
• A solid understanding of Python, PHP or Java
• Strong experience with SQL, database design and performance optimization
• A BSc degree in Computer Science or mathematics. MSc or PhD is a plus
• 3+ years professional experience
• Proficient in data structures and algorithms
• Comfortable working in UNIX/Linux environment
• A genuine passion for the web, new technologies, and open source software
• Excellent command of English (Swedish is NOT required)
• Must be authorized to work in Sweden
Experience of some of the following techniques is a plus: ETL, Data Warehousing, Solr/ElasticSearch, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, Correlation Methods, REST APIs

Our company's language is English, therefore, excellent command of English language is a requirement and Swedish language is not required.
