Platform Development (PLD) is a global organization present at all Sony Ericsson development sites. We integrate and develop the HW and SW platforms used by our global Android handsets.
We are currently looking for an experienced Software Architect to strengthen the System & Architecture team at PLD Software in Lund.
As a Software Architect at PLD you are expected to be able to take on tasks and responsibilities such as:
• Drive and participate in system analysis of the early development phases of new platforms and products
• Participate in hands-on SW development on a system level within the PLD platform SW bring-up team
• Support the Distribution Architect responsible for the PLD SW distribution with technical and architectural expertise
• Drive and support the development organization with Open Source SW contribution and SW license related activities
• Create design guidelines and process documentation to be used by the PLD SW development organization
• Communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
QUALIFICATIONS:
We think you hold a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar as a formal background, with a long experience from product development in a Linux & open source environment. Experience from active open source participation in the Linux community is a plus. On a personal level you are driven, well-organized and have good ability analyze a system to form an overall view. You have excellent communication skills in order to communicate within the company as well as externally.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field
• Expert knowledge in Open Source Software development in general and Linux development specifically
• Strong technical skills in software development in general
• Good written, oral and interpersonal communication. Your skills in english is fluent.
• Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus
• Capable of prioritizing and managing work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Can develop new creative approaches to complex design problems.
