A high focus area at Epiroc is development of intelligent machines with more automation, connectivity and energy efficiency and hybridization. This increased complexity of the control systems of our drill rigs sets high demands on our software engineers and that is why we are now looking for a dedicated engineer to strengthen our system team.
Your mission
Your main focus of the work will be to develop the software for the PLCs, displays and other configurable electronic units such as engine displays, sensors used in our basic electrical system for non-SmartROCs.
You will also be a part of developing new functions and systems for our drill rigs to improve functionality, performance and availability. In this role you will contribute with your knowledge of software and its architecture, algorithm development, communication busses and protocol knowledge.
Support during system and function tests and writing test-specifications and reports are also part of the work. Together with other system engineers, you will be responsible for the design of the architecture of the control system.
Your Profile

As a person you are structured with an analytical approach that combines theory and practice while delivering results according to the set goals.
We believe you have some years of professional experience within software development for industry automation, mobile machinery, automotive or other highly qualified engineering background within software development of embedded control systems. You are used to take ideas from an initial concept to serial production, creating technical documentation and verifying technical solutions.
You have good knowledge in general software development for PLCs and displays used in the industry using Codesys or similar and knowledge of communication busses like CAN Open, J1939 and Ethernet. Good knowledge of functional and algorithm development as well as analyzing and handling requirements, writing requirements and requirement handling, primarily for embedded systems are also required. We believe you have knowledge of reading electrical schematics as well as work with software for functional safety/Safe machine control systems, for example ISO 13849.
A good knowledge in Swedish and English both written and spoken is required for the role.
