Your responsibilities
As a IT support technician in Scania IT for R&D, you work on the edge between physical testing technology and traditional IT solutions. We are looking for someone who likes to be in the centre of the action and can work hands-on with industrial hardware and applications that require configuration and support. You will be the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for all communication with the R&D specialists and the involved Scania IT departments.
You will support the Scania R&D users and testing facilities with hands-on support. You are part of a group that provides technical support to both hardware (industrial PC's and related equipment), local applications and operating systems. You will also work on IT infrastructure and manage security for production-related IT solutions at R&D in Södertälje.
You are to ensure day-to-day operations, manage and solve incidents and help users to choose the right IT solutions. You will also do Installation, support, configuration, troubleshooting of hardware and local applications. Network patching and configuration is also a natural part of the job.
Apart from the hands-on technical work the work consist of
• Participation in development projects
• Work with continuous process improvements together with the teams
• Provide the necessary administration to manage the IT solutions
Are you familiar with driving small technical projects, good at motivating people and managing requirements, then we are extra interested in hearing from you.
Who are you?
You are a structured, supportive person by nature, with a passion and understanding of end-users and their needs. Tech support, guiding users, and clear communication is something you find both inspiring and rewarding. You have abroad technical IT knowledge, You have a few years of relevant work experience and are committed to continuous improvements in your daily work.
You are service-minded and have a good ability to collaborate, and at the same time you enjoy working independently. As a person, you are also good at planning and structuring your work and know why that it's important to think ahead and improve.
Furthermore, you have the courage to challenge existing ways of working and being creative in how you test these ideas.
• You master English in both speaking and writing. Knowing Swedish is a big advantage.
• You are structured and can plan your time and the time of others.
• You have an IT education or can show you have the acquired IT knowledge level through experience.
• you have at least 3-4 year of previous work experience in hardware and application support, or any of the relevant areas mentioned above.
