Job description
The team, Smart Edge Technologies, owns and governs the analysis, quality of service, service profiling and traffic management architectures, strategies and roadmaps. The team drives the journey ahead by engaging with stakeholders, drive POC’s and challenges current ways of working to enable necessary speed in development and evolution. In close cooperation with local business units you ensure that the country needs are understood and that local implementations are following the outlined target architecture.
You are expected to be passionate about network technologies, define strategies, describe them in a clear manner and secure a speedy implementation and alignment within Telia Company.
Your key responsibilities include
Translate business strategic directions into network architecture Drive and define network analytics, DPI, service policies, traffic management and quality of service architecture and strategies Drive the architectural and network development agenda in our cross-border matrix organization Secure optimal dialogue with business and commercial units in order to create aligned and business opportunity driven development When relevant form Proof of Concepts and testing of new opportunities in co-operation with stakeholders Formulate guidelines and instructions and follow-up Deliver high level set-up for specific projects and implementations Develop strategic business cases enabling new technologies and support new business opportunities Capture and evaluate market and industry trends Contributing to create required awareness to allow key decisions impacting our network technology strategy
Scope of the unit is
Traffic management Data analytics Performance management i.e. probes DPI Data Security and related services Protocol and Internet evolution Video techniques, encryption Data services Optimisation, including network optimisation Convergent charging

Required skills and qualifications
You have excellent communication, cooperation and coordination skills and you enjoy working in an international environment. You have the ability to inspire others! You need to have experience in working with fixed/mobile networks, IT and have a rigid commercial understanding. Knowledge of how to evolve the current networks towards the new generation telco, introducing a layered architecture, virtualization (Telco Cloud) and converged services is essential. Moreover, you must be able to deliver in a global organization, which supports multi country planning. You know how to design, prioritize and execute plans – this to secure competitive services across all technologies and superior user experience for future applications across multiple vendors and markets.
The position will require some travelling.
Knowledge and experience
M. Sc. Degree in Engineering or equivalent education Fluent English, both in writing and orally. Experience in network evolution and strategic planning Solid understanding fixed access, transport and software defined networks Proven ability to link the overall strategies to the demands on future networks Substantial knowledge and personal success track in defining, designing, selecting and deploying transport network functionality Experience of structuring information and creating clear guidelines Knowledge within the ICT space including Cloud Computing technologies Experience of role as project manager with focus on delivery and execution Personal success track in building and developing good working relationships and stakeholder management .Handling of relationships with suppliers and third parties

An experienced network engineer professional ready to advance to Network architect expert Able to understand customer and business opportunities and translate into technology (and vice versa) Passionate about creating the optimal and cost efficient new generation networks and are not afraid to develop strategic statements and push them all the way to realisation. Ambitious with focus on improvement and excellence Eager to make an impact – execution! Curious and keen to keep yourself updated about the world around you Creative and innovative Owner of excellent communication and presentation skills (in English) and can carry out stakeholders’ management in a respectful and positive way
