We're looking for an experienced procurement professional who has worked in manufacturing operations before. We're looking for an individual who has significant experience of leading and developing a team and has a particular flair for driving change through and continuous improvement agenda and value delivery.

As our Site Procurement Lead you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 5 procurement professionals with responsibility for locally managed Direct and Indirect budget expenditure up to the value of $60m p.a. and further enabling and embedding Globally managed supply agreements up to the value of a further $240M p.a.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Our Site Procurement Lead have accountability for leading and developing a small team of procurement professionals and leveraging both Local and Globally managed spend to deliver maximum value to the sites local opex budgets. The role reports into the head of Purchasing for EMEA operations.

This is a critical role within Sweden Operations supporting the largest manufacturing site within the EMEA region. You must be capable of using market insight, procurement skills and effective stakeholder management to lead change through value initiatives. You will lead the Procurement Council meetings locally with senior management representation to report on supply chain risks, supplier performance and delivery against key Purchasing targets. Further segmentation of the spend between local and global contracts will see more opportunities for the Team to take the lead role for sub-category expenditure or key suppliers for the EMEA region.


Other key responsibilities will include :

* Develop propositions and business cases to take to the Procurement Council that support both tactical and long term strategic value delivery
* Develop and secure a stable supply of Direct Materials to support the prevailing production plans
* Lead risk mitigation efforts, monitor relevant markets and take appropriate actions to prevent supply disruptions
* Manage RFI, RFP, and auction activities, manage negotiations related to same.
* Work directly with Global Category Leads and Legal Affairs to establish robust contracts and local product schedules
* Trend products and services purchased in relation to supply/demand, technologies, economies and historical pricing
* Collaborates with all departments to minimize cost of goods manufactured (COGM) at the site and ensure accuracy of pricing in the SAP
* Drive raw material forecasting process as necessitated by supply agreements
* Drive maximum utilization of SAP and utilize SAP to manage supplier status, maintain source lists and generate supplier key performance indicators (KPI's)
* Work with Production Planning to ensure effective management of inventory
* Eliminate / Reduce production waste
* Assist Production Planning with introduction and obsolescence of materials throughout product life cycles, including recovery of costs associated with obsolete inventory
* Function as liaison between Quality groups and suppliers, including distribution of supplier communications and coordination of supplier investigations. Support supplier qualification and supplier initiated change (SIC) processes
* Take lead on sub-category spend on regional/global category spend where spend is dominated out of Sweden Operations


Essential Requirements

* Must have minimum of 10 years experience in working in manufacturing supply chains in a Procurement capacity with minimum spend accountabilities of $40M p.a
* Must have developed leadership skills in managing a team of Procurement professionals for minimum of 5 years
* Demonstrated track record of leading change and delivering significant value from procurement activity measured in $ millions per year
* Experience in developing long-term Category Strategies and using market insight
* Strong stakeholder management experience up to Director, Site leadership / VP level


Desirable Requirements

* Pharmaceutical or Consumer Health Care Experience desirable
* Experience in working with Process Chemical and Excipients
* ERP SAP
* Professional National Purchasing qualifications
