Surface Chemistry, a business unit of AkzoNobel, operates in 50 countries, employing over 1500 people. Based
in Chicago, IL, United States, with regional marketing centers in Bridgewater, NJ, United States, Singapore and
Stenungsund, Sweden, we are leading supplier of specialty surfactants and synthetic and bio-polymers
additives. Using a combination of Chemical expertise, process technology and application know-how, we solve
problems for a multitude of manufacturers and formulators. We service a wide range of industries including agro,
asphalt, cleaning, fabric care, mining, personal care and petroleum.
Om tjänstenStockvik is one of three manufacturing sites operated by Surface Chemistry EMEIA. Our current site manager,
Björn Vedin, will be pursuing new challenges in a different AkzoNobel business shortly and we are now looking
for his successor Stockvik is a critical asset in our manufacturing system, producing a wide range of specialty surfactants, mainly based on fatty amines or their derivatives. The site operation is complex and challenging as we have many raw materials & suppliers, use a range of unit operations and technologies and significant internal and external
logistics.
Surface Chemistry EMEIA has embarked on an ambitious growth and the products manufactured in Stockvik play an important role. Our intention is to increase utilization of the plant with existing as well as new products and we are in the process of renewing our operating permit to allow for higher volumes.
The site manager is overall responsible for the production for all activities at the Surface Chemistry site in Stockvik. The main tasks and responsibilities include:
• Ensure that all operation on the site is performed in a safe manner, in line with legislation and company policy
with respect to HSE&S
• Create a stimulating and developing working climate leading to high engagement among all personnel
• Manage the maintenance and development of the production resources (incl equipment, technology,
personnel) in line with current and future business and HSE&S requirements
• Ensure that the quality requirements are met and organize Quality Assurance appropriately
• Establish budgets for production cost as well as capital expenditure and manage expenditure to meet budgets
• Oversee the introduction of new products at the site ensuring that HSE, quality and cost targets are met in a
timely manner
• Act as Operating Manager for the plant including the obligations and responsibilities defined
Kravprofil för detta jobbTo be successful in this position you need a solid experience in management, manufacturing and HSE. You have a relevant academic degree and work experience from the process industry. You are a good communicator, both in writing and verbally, and of course fluent in English. As a person you are entrepreneurial
