HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi ABB Power Grids located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. As a Site Manager you will lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.
Your responsibilities
Assume ownership of the construction site, of the site activities, the management of the site personnel and the delivery of the contractual requirements.
Coordinate and drive the performance of the Site Works according to the Contract; ensure the fulfilment of the contractual deliverables within the defined schedule, within budget, avoiding scope creep and with the utmost levels of Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
Serve as main interface to the Customer site representatives and local authorities. Lead of our site personnel and our subcontractors.
Manage subcontracts, claims, payment certificates and the overall performance of our subcontractors.
Manage the site budget and site costs, prepare accurate cost forecasting, communicate deviations, and define mitigation actions to stay within budget.
Define the Site Execution Strategy and ensure its implementation.
Responsible for the proper implementation and compliance with the site-specific Health, Safety and Environmental Plan.
Ensure the collection and implementation of Lessons Learnt from previous projects and the preparation and distribution of Lessons Learnt from their site to the rest of the organization.

Your background

You are eager and open to learn new trades, products, techniques, and ways of performing activities.
You hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
Some years of work experience as a site manager on constructions sites in the energy/sector/industry.
Sound commercial awareness, contracts management experience and business acumen.
Relevant knowledge and experience in the field of HSE. IOSH Managing Safely certificate is a plus.
Pragmatic, proactive, able to have a holistic approach to the projects, and stay grounded in the present needs while planning for the future activities
Proficient in English since you will be part of an international setting where you will get to exchange knowledge with people from all over the world. Any other language is a plus.
Willingness to travel worldwide.
