Are you interested in creating sustainable solutions for the maritime sector of the future? Do you want to work with exciting maritime projects? We are now looking for a new colleague with high programming and engineering skills, and interests in the future of sustainable shipping!

RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB is a gathering strength in the maritime area through the newly formed Maritime department, where the former SSPA is integrated.

Placement at our office in Gothenburg at the SSPA Maritime Center with the possibility of remote work to a certain extent.

The RISE Maritime department works in the marine sector with both a global and national focus. The main focus is ship development and marine operations and consists of approx. 130 committed employees. The ship development department works with design, concept development and performance verification of marine vessels.

About the role
You will be part of a strong team for ship simulations as well as the large team of Naval Architects, researchers and engineers at RISE's Maritime Consulting and Research departments. One of your main focus areas will be simulations for wind powered ships, including hydro- and aerodynamic modelling, routing, maneuvering, and full mission bridge simulations.

You'll also work with:

- Supporting our customers worldwide in concept development, ship design and maritime operation
- Development of our in-house ship simulation packages for ship performance
- Contributing to research projects with national and international collaboration partners

Who are you?
You have a relevant master/PhD in Engineering Physics, Mechanical engineering (primarily hydro- and aerodynamics), Naval Architecture or equivalent and minimum three years professional experience. Research experience is valuable. You have high programming skills (we use C++ and Phyton), as well as engineering skills. Furthermore, you should be able to take lead on and coordinate development tasks. You have great collaborative skills, both internally and with external partners and customers, and to fit in our team you enjoy teamwork.

Are we right for each other?
We cannot promise you an easy job, but we can promise you dedicated colleagues and some really exiting challenges to work with. You will work in a dynamic environment offering professional and personal development opportunities. Together with your colleagues you contribute to a sustainable maritime future.

Welcome with your application!
