hela Sverige Volvo GTT/ Powertrain Engineering is the Strategic Centre for powertrain development within the Volvo Group. The scope covers complete powertrain systems, such as engines, transmissions and driven axles, including development, manufacturing, sourcing, partnership, installation service and support in close co-operation with the customers. Powertrain Engineering is present in Sweden, France, North & South America and Japan.
As a simulation engineer within Simulation & NVH you will be deeply involved in the development of the next generations of heavy duty diesel engines and hybrid powertrains. Our aim is to drive the hardware development using simulations.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is the base for the assignment and depending on skills and interest there is a possibility to increase the scope.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
To perform structural analysis of some of the main components/systems in the powertrain. The loading conditions could be very complex and it is included in the role to improve the methods when possible.
Result evaluation is a very important step including conclusions and recommendations to design responsible.
It is It is also of great importance to be a part of the global CAE team, sharing knowledge and methods to secure one common approach.
Profile:
You are a person with large interest in structural analysis using FEA. It is beneficial to have a few years of experience, but not required. We appreciate if you are an open minded person with a positive attitude and a drive for continuous improvement. Communication skills are of great importance and that you have courage and confidence to act on your own.
The job requires that you are structured, have a sense of responsibility and carefulness for the deliveries agreed with the internal customer, where planning is a key word.
Qualifications:
• Technical education; MSc or higher in relevant area (M, F, V).
Experience within the following software is of interest:
• ANSYS (Classic)
• ANSA
• AVL EXCITE (MBS software)
Proficient in English language is of great importance
