hela Sverige Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Engine development is now in an very interesting phase where the future engine platforms are in focus to enable sustainable powertrains within the Volkswagen Truck & Bus group. Combustion engines (with a wide variety of fuels) will be a vital propulsion source in the heavy vehicle powertrains for several decades ahead. Both alone, but of course also integrated with electrified hybrid solutions.
The engine Dynamics, Acoustics & Tribology group is an analytically strong group built up by development engineers, a tribology Senior Technical Manager and a group manager. The group delivers expertise within these areas by advanced technical simulations as well as acoustic testing. The work is performed cross functional, not only inside the engine development but also with design-, test-, and simulation groups within transmission-, truck- and and bus development.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a driven simulation engineer with at least two years of experience that want to be part of our successful group. We are working with full engine models for torsion- and structural dynamic and acoustic simulations, dynamic belt drive simulations as well as tribology-related bearing and power-cylinder simulations etc. Exactly what area that will be your main area depends on your existing qualifications and interest. However, the main need at the moment is within the tribology area.
To use the full potential in simulation driven development there is a strong focus towards standardized simulation methods and automated meshing and simulations needed ahead. We see that you are performing your work with this approach, willing to improve and influence others. You have a university Master degree or Ph.D. level in a relevant area of knowledge. Speaking and writing in English is no problem for you, any Swedish and/or German skills are considered as meritorious.
The main CAE tools at the group are ANSA, EXCITE, Nastran, Abaqus, Matlab, Dymola and GT-Suite. Experience of these or similar tools is considered as meritorious. Tribology knowledge will be a strong parameter in the recruitment selection.
What's in it for you?
You will be working in an inclusion- and diversity-based environment with varied and challenging work assignments. Your colleagues have great enthusiasm for technology and will support your work in a collaborative manner. Continuous improvement and professional development of our employees is a priority for us. We support and encourage our employees to attend training courses both within the company and externally as well as attend conferences and similar to always be in the leading edge of knowledge. Whatever your professional aspirations are, Scania's varied and numerous career development paths will help you achieve them.
On top of this, we offer our employees other benefits, such as company lease car, performance bonuses, pension savings, flexible working hours, workout/gym possibilities, lunch at reduced prices and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, the Scania JobExpress.
