This is us, your new colleagues
Volvo CE in Braås, located close to Växjö, develop autonomous and articulated haulers and wheel loaders. We do everything from product planning, development, sales and marketing to purchasing, manufacturing and assembly of the complete machine. The team
The main tasks for the Virtual Product Development team are to predict and verify performance of machines, systems and components with digital tools and models. We are on a transformation journey where we not only develop and use the latest technology within Virtual Product Development, Data Analytics and Cloud Computing, but also integrate different domains to what we call Digital Twins. Along this transformation journey we develop collaboration with teams close to our end customers due to the fact that the technology that we develop increase in value for that part of our organization.

The role
As a simulation engineer you will be part of the new way of working with increased utilization of models and simulations that will replace the old way of exploring and verifying design solutions. You will be part of a strong team specialized in virtual product development. To succeed in this position, it is important that you understand our integrated development process.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Prepare simulations, i.e. model and realize the environment and expected results
Perform computer simulations of systems and machines in different kinds of projects
Perform signal processing and data analytics
Value and verify results from simulations and testing
Contribute to the development toward the department's vision in terms of Culture/Mindset, Competence, Methods development, Digital Twins and Data Analytics
Plan and coordinate activities to improve current processes that often involves cross-functional collaboration

Knowledge & experience
To be successful in your new role we believe you have the following knowledge or experience:
M.Sc. or PhD degree in mechanical, construction, engineering physics or equivalent
Great communication skills in English, spoken and written
Experience from simulations in product development
Interest in computer programming and scripting
