About the Role
As a NOC Engineer at VX Fiber you'll be part of our network operations team. Tasked with monitoring, maintaining and expanding fiber-optic networks as well as our it-systems around the world. You'll play a key role in ensuring that our networks and platforms deliver high availability and performance.
You'll work in our NOC team in Umeå together with experienced network and system engineers, where no two days are the same. The role requires both strong technical skills and a service-oriented mindset - you'll be the link between our customers, service providers, and internal technical teams.
What you'll Do
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain networks in live environments
Work on planning, design, and expansion of global fiber networks
Collaborate with service providers to ensure the highest level of service quality
Act as a technical resource in customer projects and internal initiatives
Contribute to continuous improvement, developing processes and routines
Work closely with a team of skilled network and system engineers in collaboration with the NOC Manager

What you Bring
We're looking for a self-driven, experienced, and confident technical professional. You have several years of experience within the IT or telecom industry, preferably from a NOC or operations environment with a focus on network technology and infrastructure.
You have a deep understanding of network environments and know how to work methodically with operations, troubleshooting, and incident management in complex systems. Experience with server management, Linux, automation, or programming is an advantage - but most importantly, you have the ability to see the big picture, act proactively, and take technical ownership.
You're fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and thrive in an environment where you can take responsibility, solve problems, and contribute new ideas.
Experience
We believe you:
Have several years of experience in ISP or network operations.
Possess deep knowledge of networking technologies, routing/switching, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Are structured, detail-oriented, and analytical in your approach
Are service-minded, communicative, and enjoy interacting with both colleagues and customers
Enjoy sharing knowledge and taking a leading role in technical discussions
Are motivated by improving, optimizing, and developing processes
Formal education is not a requirement - your experience, curiosity, and technical drive are what truly matter.
Language
You're fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written,
