Do you like to travel and experience new places and cultures? Would you like to combine your passion with your work? Are you a technical person that also has the ability to work hands-on? If yes, then this role as a Service Engineer at Caterpillar Propulsion applies to you.
In this role you will be responsible for commissioning, start-up and testing of mechanical (Propeller, OD Box), hydraulic and control systems on new building projects all over the world. This role also supervise/oversee complex repairs and overhauls of all CAT Propulsions' equipment on vessels under warranty claim, equipment, annual docking and emergency repairs.
In order to be successful in this role it is important to have high communication and social skills since you will be monitoring and coordinating the job with the customer and shipyard on site. As a person you are thorough and define yourself as a person with high working ethics. You are also expected to have good knowledge of both marine mechanical repairs and electronic repairs.
Key responsibilities:
• Report on defects found on CAT Propulsions' equipment during commissioning, repair or troubleshoot processes
• Responsible for Commissioning of various Trading Articles that is included in the Equipment delivery, such as Shaft Alternator, Gearbox, Journal Bearing, Soft-starter etc.
• Prepare service reports upon completion of work
• Prepare commissioning checklists, sea-trial reports and harbor trial (bollard pull) reports Complete defective parts forms for warranty claim purposes on completion of new building projects
• Report on mishandling or wrong installation of CAT Propulsions' equipment which could cause damage or malfunction of the equipment
This job requires:
• At least 3-5 years of relevant job experience within software and electronic support or solution experience
• Technical degree within mechanical/electrical/hydraulic is meritorious
• A genuine interest for service and repairs and the ability to work hands-on
• A flexible personality with high ability to take own initiatives
• Great in solving problems by using your creative and analytical mind
• A person who likes to work independently and take responsibility for their own work
• Good knowledge in English, both written and spoken
• Good knowledge in administration and documentation

Location: Hönö, Gothenburg
Extension: Full-time consultant through Dfind Science and Engineering, at the end of the assignment there is a high probability that a permanent position will be offered from Caterpillar.
