This role is part of a two-person strategy, with an SEO Manager (this role!) responsible for laying out Blocket's SEO strategy and coordinating its implementation, and an SEO Technical Coach (also an opening! Read more at our careersite
https://blocket.career/) who will guide and support our multiple teams in their SEO delivery.
The SEO manager is the "grand vision" person and they should prioritize and spend the bulk of their time on that. But they are also a deeply analytical person with a practical understanding of SEO who gets their hands dirty with the everyday minutiae of keyword analysis and hands-on optimisation, including the nitty-gritty of content curation.
So, what are we looking for when it comes to the SEO Manager? Glad you asked! :)
- You need to know your craft: you must have experience having worked with SEO before (auditing, monitoring, and leading initiatives for increasing a site's performance).
- You need to have a growth mindset: we are looking for somebody who believe they can get smarter every day, and who likes to put the effort in reading papers & blogs, going to conferences, attending meet-ups, and constantly looking out for new opportunities to learn more.
- You need to enjoy communicating with others: a sizable part of the job of the SEO manager will be to interact with different stakeholders, sharing insight, informing strategic choices and in general combining many different inputs in a coherent, effective strategy.
That's it. Seriously. We don't care if you hold a certification in Google Adwords and Google Analytics or if you have 7+ years of experience in SEO. I mean: good for you, that is probably a signal you know your craft well... but we are not looking for the most certified expert. We are looking for the right personTM that can contribute value from the start and will grow with our company and with the support of their colleagues.
