The Sensor Fusion & Software Integration group is one of four groups in the section Active Safety and Vehicle Dynamics Functions. The group consists of teams that have a supportive role to the whole section, e.g. Sensor Fusion Architects, Map & Cloud Architects, SW Leaders, SW Integration Engineers, SW Quality Engineers and System Safety Engineers.
We are now hiring Active Safety Map & Cloud System Developers with various experience, i.e. we are hiring for both Senior and Junior roles.
As Active Safety Map & Cloud System Developer, you will be part of a team working with map data needs for a fused environmental perception, as well as a solution for probe sourcing sensor data for keeping a cloud based map continuously up to date and reliable enough to be used for autonomous driving.
Main responsibilities
One of your responsibilities will be to design the system solution as well as writing and releasing requirements and documentation, supporting the development in these areas. In this work, you need to have a close collaboration with the Function Owners within Active Safety as well as other stakeholders within Volvo Cars globally, such as the Infotainment/Navigation area, the team within Volvo Cars IT working with the cloud development and the Sensor Performance team.
-Further, as a Senior Developer, you will collaborate closely with our map suppliers, as well as our SW Partner Zenuity, in all phases of the Active Safety and Autonomous Drive projects. You will also work to define strategies and new technology steps / advanced engineering within the area together with the Map & Cloud Team Leader.
Required qualifications
- M.Sc Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
- Senior role: 5-7 years of work experience in product development (automotive or other applicable area).
- Senior role: 3-5 years of work experience within the area of maps or cloud services, telematics or equivalent
Possibilities of Development
The Map & Cloud team will be a global team with presence in both Gothenburg, Sweden and Shanghai, China. This gives a possibility to grow and be able to truly act in a global environment and to develop team leadership skills in a culturally diverse team. Close cooperation with the IT department will bring in the IT aspect into the more traditional R&D work stream, which is broadening for the competence.
In the Senior role, strategy development for the area is also included. This will provide an opportunity for connections in other strategic areas within Volvo Cars, as well as standardization networks, etc.
