Role Summary
This role is a part of TRATON Group R&D, located in Södertälje, Sweden.
Scania's Autonomous Transport Solutions is a software-focused organization building solutions for highway and mining applications in collaboration with leading technology suppliers.
Sensor technology for autonomous vehicles has developed rapidly over the last years and our team's main responsibility is to deliver a complete environmental and ego-sensing platform to enable autonomy in the defined operational design domain. We work with sensors such as radar, lidar, and cameras.
We organize and plan according to an agile framework (SAFe) to handle challenges in quick iterations. We collaborate closely with neighboring teams across the autonomous stack.

Job Responsibilities
Setup and perform characterizing tests for sensors to build knowledge.
Analyze and quantify sensor measurement problems from field and large quantities of data.
Work pro-actively to evolve sensor technology to increase the autonomous vehicle capability.
Perform tasks from developing methods for sensor calibration, sensor data filtering, transform handling, etc.
Develop more automated workflows of sensor area tasks.

Who you are
You are a team player who is open to learning and exploring new areas and techniques. You are analytical and result-oriented with a can-do mentality and a right-from-me
spirit. You have strong problem-solving skills and have a passion for innovation and a desire to push boundaries in the field of autonomous vehicles
Regarding your technical background, we see that you have at least a few years of work experience with:
Sensor technology (lidar and radar).
Signal and/or pointcloud processing for lidar/radar.
Python (relevant expericence from OpenCV, PCL, Open3D, Scipy, Eigen, or similar signal/pointcloud processing libraries).
Master of science (towards physics, robotics, electrical engineering).


In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn a lot. Experience in any of the areas below is an advantage, but not required - we will support your development if these are new to you:
Photonics, optics, radio/radar/EM related physics applicable to radars/lidars
Radar design
Sensor simulation
Databricks
AI/ML
C++
