Cochlear BAS (Bone Anchored Solutions) in Mölnlycke just outside of Gothenburg designs, develops and produces the bone-anchored Baha Systems currently used in several products; i.e. BP100, BP110 Power and Cordelle II. Cochlear BAS has approximately 200 employees with a wide range of competencies such as mechanical, electro & bioengineering, design & product development, software development, audiology, clinical research, purchasing etc.
Position Overview / Purpose:
Responsible for Verification engineering in the Sound Processors Development department according to objectives set in agreement with the manager. This applies to new products and accessories, as well as legacy products.
Responsibility:
• Provide leadership in verification activities on component and system level, including the technical areas of mechanics, electronics, software and acoustics.
• Responsibility for co-ordinating team level contribution to a project and management of team performance.
• Provide direction and skill building to engineers.
• Design and oversee validation and verification protocols and reports.
• Plan verification activities
• Perform or outsource test execution
• Develop test methods
• Identify and recommend significant improvement to operational procedures and processes.
• Solve difficult problems and produces solutions outside the standard procedure.
• Responsibility for quality system and design control processes.
Key Incumbent requirements:
• Engineering Degree or Engineering Certificate.
• Technical expert with advanced specialist knowledge, which typically takes 5-8 years to acquire.
• Good knowledge in mechanics, electronics and software.
• Knowledge in hardware test systems and acoustics is meritorious.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Excellent knowledge of documenting work through reports and descriptions
• Good experience of best practice in verification engineering
• Good practical and theoretical knowledge of Product development process/es, e.g. requirement driven development and reliability engineering.
• Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to network, influence and persuade internally and externally.
