As senior venture development manager you will initiate and lead incubation and start-up collaborations from concept development to new ventures. You will play a key role for developing new service offerings through executions of Proof of value, Rapid evaluations, or leading new ventures. The role requires an agile, networked way of working as well as an open mindset and passion to deliver value for our customers.
The position reports to the Vice President Innovation Lab at Volvo Group Connected solutions and are part to the Volvo Group Connected Solutions Innovation Lab leadership team with a dotted line to the head of Volvo Group Venture capital.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Innovation manager, your key responsibilities are:
Actively seek and develop new growth opportunities for Volvo Group and its customers by identifying, scoping and driving new incubation projects to new ventures
Manage our innovation ecosystem partners by actively matching strategic opportunities with the external innovation ecosystem
Initiate, develop and coordinate strategic collaborations between Volvo Group Venture Capital portfolio companies and Volvo Group business areas, including customers and networks
Collaborate and co-create with external partners, both large multinationals as well as start-up 's with the purpose to incubate new business offerings and build valuable partnerships
Drive rapid evaluations with relevant pipeline companies, aiming to validate value and problem solutions fit
Develop and drive incubation and commercialization for new ventures and partnerships
Collaborate with functions within Volvo Group, commercial and engineering teams, to enable successful execution of new ventures and partnerships
Develop roadmaps together with portfolio companies and Volvo Group business area
Competence Profile & Qualifications
To qualify for this role, you should have experience from:
Experienced in co-creating new values with external partners e.g. large strategic partners and small start-up 's
A strong business acumen and experience of developing shared values through partnerships
Gets energy from both strategizing as well as hands on prototype building and experimenting together with users
Proven experience and understanding of methods such as business model design, Lean start-up and scaling new business
Experience from domains related to Volvo Group business areas e.g. Logistics, Construction, Energy solutions and public transport
Experience of leading cross functional teams in different phases from, concept development to commercialization, with an agile and Lean start-up approach
Entrepreneurial mindset and drive
Strong communicator and storyteller
Successful in building excellent working relationships
We expected a minimum of 5+ years experience in similar roles

We believe the successful candidate has operational experience from working with software-based business incubation in a global environment. Ability to bold thinking, personal credibility, integrity and creativity are crucial personal characteristics. You are a social person with strong relationship capabilities and enjoy working with others in flexible team constellations. You have a passion for new business creation and an interest in people. You are a team player and comfortable with high level of uncertainty.
You have a Master's degree or equivalent experience with incubating new businesses as the basis for your career. You are fluent in English. International business experience is a merit. The successful candidate will have shown a winning attitude and great persona in combination with a strong track record and references.
