The department
Corporate Digital Design & UX is responsible for design and user experience on a group-wide scale. Our purpose is to inspire and enable teams and individuals across Scania to provide premium digital experiences, for all types of users. We make that happen by providing the guidance, expertise, methods, tools and training that the organisation needs.
We are three teams, each with a different purpose, but all working towards the same goal - ensuring a premium Scania digital experience. The design system, the digital design strategy, also experts in design are what we offer the organisation. And this last part is where the Design Expertise Team comes in.
The team
The Design Expertise Team augments organisations, projects and teams across Scania with expertise in service design, UX design, UI design and front-end development. And we are on a mission - to offer world class design and front-end expertise that always delivers the utmost end-user value.
We are currently 20+ experienced and open-minded people, with a wide range of backgrounds and skill sets. And we are involved in really diverse projects - everything from e-com and open websites to supporting venture growth start-ups and building extremely complex systems for industrial production. You name an area - and we probably have something ongoing, or just starting.
The role
As a Senior UX Designer you are an important part of defining what it means to work with UX Design at Scania. You are well versed in UX Design and UX Research methodology and always deliver with quality. As a team, Design Expertise works tightly with Product Owners, Developers and Business Analysts throughout the organisation and as a Senior UX Designer you are the voice of the team, helping Scania create premium experiences. You are a firm believer in teamwork, and through your leadership skills, you bring the best out of multidisciplinary teams and create experiences that drive user and business value.
Your profile
In order for you to thrive in this role, you need to have good experience working with UX design. You don't have to check all the bullets below to fit in, but if you can, that's of course a bonus.
• You have previous experience in UX Design.
• You are comfortable taking on complex experiences within a bigger eco-systems of products, with the goal of creating one cohesive experience.
• You are insight-driven in your work, always basing your design decisions on insights about the user.
• You always seek ways to challenge and validate your work through feedback and insights.
• You are a leader within your craft, experienced in leading and mentoring junior colleagues and building their skills
• You have experience in leading and educating organizations in user-centered design and how to work with experiences
• You are great at communicating design, and adapting your communication depending on the audience, such as fellow designers, developers or project managers.
• You are pragmatic and curious in the way you approach challenges, sometimes a small step is the best step.
