We are seeking a senior user experience designer with a proven track record of designing apps for mobile devices with first-class user interfaces. Our experienced team of developers and QAs in Göteborg is building the Opera for Android browser, a product used by millions of users across the world every day, and we are now strengthening the team with a UX designer with a lot of drive and commitment. This is a unique opportunity to be the one who sets the direction and look-and-feel of a unique, high-profile app by working with modern methodologies like motion design.

You will report to the Development Manager, work closely with the development- and QA teams for quick iterations and collaborate with the Development- and Product Managers to set the direction of our world-class product.

Your first order of business will be to recruit a direct report, a graphical designer to work with you on high-fidelity mockups, wireframes and animations.

While professional UX experience is required, talent and ambition are your best assets.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the product and development teams to build a world-class product.

• Work with graphical artists to try out new ideas and produce wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes.

• Improve our product through user studies and data analysis.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience working with application UX design

• Professional experience leading and directing team members

• Passion about design, technology and the web

• Ability to throw away ideas and move on to the next iteration

• A team player who can work well with other designers to integrate the best ideas

• Ability to produce enticing UX-communication pieces in the form of wireframes, prototypes and mockups

• Deep concern about form, function and aesthetics

• Awareness about the development of Android and our competitors
