We are looking for a Senior Traction Power System Engineer in Västerås, Sweden
The Opportunity!
The Senior Traction Engineer is responsible for the methodology and the technical development of the involved products and platform solutions covering key functionality as implemented inHW and FWbut also acts as principal contact/coordinator person with respect to other product and technical domains.
Scope of Responsibilities :
Strive for no technical issue with strong QCD impact due to the technical domain
To capitalize the return of experience in the domain of response
To define best practices in the domain and to spread them in the engineering community
To create and update or review the knowledge guidelines, the tools and the templates of deliverables
To deploy those guidelines, tools and templates in the engineering community and to promote their use
To create and update or review the template of the design review check-list
To chair the design reviews in his domain when needed
To approve the technical solutions by participating to the system design review when needed
To share return of experience, guidelines, tools, templates and check-lists with other experts and skill leaders on other sites
Monitor technology trends and competitive landscape in the domain evolution of standards and regulation impacting his domain
Monitor standards/norms
To insure the technical quality of the deliverables
To coach new engineers of the domain
To coach thesis workers and external researchers and take initiatives to such activities
To provide support upon request to engineers of the domain
Lead development projects within the domain
To contribute to problem solving
Support in defining future verification and testing capabilities and capacity in the domain
Who you are :
Relevant academic background, e.g. Master's Degree or PhD degree in within the field of Power Electronics.
At least 5 years of experience within the field of Power electronic design with also a preferable experience in VHDL development.
Experience of working with industrial electronics and FW for embedded systems is a merit
Knowledge about electronics (PCBA) manufacturing and its processes
Knowledge about testing of power modules/electronics, both in production and during development
Good documentation and presentation skills.
Experience from the combination of GDU - IGBT control solutions, is considered an advantage and a merit.
Knowledge and experience of railway and safety standards, e.g. EN50155, EN50121-3-2 and 50657/50129 is beneficial
Swedish & English at a fluent level is mandatory for this role
