We are now looking for a Senior Tools Developer to join our Tools team within the Firmware Platform department.
OUR TEAM
We develop and maintain the tools to compile, test, and publish the software that goes into Axis's products. We strive to improve developers' productivity and relieve them of mundane tasks by providing a continuous integration pipeline that builds and tests their changes on dozens of Axis cameras in our labs and makes it easy for them to analyze any test failures. We have a close relationship with stakeholders throughout the organization so that the build and test environment we provide supports how they want to work. Being part of the tools team, you soon learn to live and breathe the Axis culture and values.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Our tools team needs further strength from a senior tools developer. You will perform continuous analysis, implementation and maintenance of the entire tools infrastructure enabling fast development and integration of software.
In detail you will:
Manage and develop tools like Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Artifactory so they fit together at Axis Maintain, improve, provide education on integration and release tools Provide highly available, scalable, automated and supported tools and services using technologies like Docker and Ansible Perform trouble shooting and support our engineers Drive continuous improvement of tools, infrastructure and methodologies Be a part of the open source communities of our tools Have the possibility to be an evangelist for your own ideas and changes
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Someone who can't resist making life better for your co-workers by identifying issues and possible improvements, dissecting them and providing a way forward.
Qualification and experience:
A Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science (or similar) Good knowledge in English, both written and verbal Great knowledge and interest of tools and methodologies Providing and implementing tools in a large scale organization Scripting and automation (e.g. shell, Python, Perl)
Bonus if you have extra skills in:
Contribution to open source communities Mastering Python IT infrastructure (network, storage, configuration, deployment, virtualization) Embedded development in Linux Large scale software integration Linux distribution maintainer or similar Common tools for building open source software Yocto Project experience Experience in writing automated tests Knowledge of web application development and JavaScript frameworks
