You'll work alongside accomplished, world-renowned engineers on perhaps the most exciting automotive programs in existence today.

We are looking for a Senior thermal simulation engineer to strengthen our CFD team in Ängelholm. As a Senior thermal simulation engineer at Koenigsegg you will build, run, and interpret results from various thermal models ranging in complexity from a single component to complex full vehicle systems. These would include air flow and thermal management around the vehicle, in the engine, e-motor, battery systems as well as passenger compartment and underbody area. You will join a small team of engineers working in a fast-paced environment with short decision paths. As a person you work well both in teams and on your own, while being an energetic and adaptive person that contributes strong technical expertise to a fast-paced engineering team. You are ambitious, curious and have a genuine passion for technology and vehicles.

Responsibilities

- CFD simulations to estimate heat rejection and determine air and water flow requirements for automotive type cooling systems.
- Understand sizing an air conditioning system and determine cooling capacity required.
- Evaluate passenger compartment comfort using CFD models.
- Perform flow analysis of complete underhood geometries, cooling systems, e-motor, battery packs and electronics.
- Develop methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our thermal tools and workflow.
- Clearly post-process and interpret simulation results to identify current performance and develop areas of improvement.
- Communicate results, conclusions and provide insights for design changes.
- Daily use of several commercial CFD codes, 1D solvers and supporting software in Windows, Linux/Unix and HPC environment.
- Fully engage in vehicle development activity and proactively take ownership of simulation activity to best guide the design team.
- Interaction with prototype/test teams, setting validation methods and parameters.

Need to have

- MSc in mechanical/aerospace engineering with strong emphasis in thermal management (PhD would be an advantage)
- >5 years working experience as a thermal engineer in Automotive/Motorsports is required.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics principles.
- Comfortable working with technical teams and program managers.
- Experience in 1-D modelling, heat transfer and cooling systems.
- Advanced skills setting up thermal simulations with Star-CCM+, ANSYS, Altair.
- Good knowledge of Catia V5 would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong analytical ability.
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
