The section Vehicle and Systems Testing is a section within the department A&V Environments & BRAVe. Our main purpose is to operate and develop the department's test beds within; Engine Testing, Powertrain Testing, Climate & Aero Testing, Chassi dyno Testing and Emission Testing. Our responsibility is to provide Research & Development with test beds and test equipment system in accordance with R&D needs with agreed solutions for capability and capacity over time.
As a Senior Test Engineer you will be a part of the group, Dynamic Powertrain Testing that consists of 14 engineers responsible for testing in dynamic engine test beds where we run the engine system and simulate a complete vehicle. We are currently in the process starting up two new powertrain test beds and in total the group is responsible for 8 engine test beds, these test beds are mainly used for calibration of performance, emissions and fuel economy. Tests of different hardware setups and new concepts are also among our daily tasks.
Main responsibilities
• Prepare new tests in the test bed computer system, programming and scripting
• Document methods developed during testing
• Be responsible for test object to rig interfacing
• Support the daily running of the test bed
• Plan, execute and analyze tests together with internal customers
• Continuous learning of new technology
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. or B.Sc in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or equal experience
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
• Prior experience from programming and scripting is meritorious
• Prior experience in engine calibration is meritorious
• Prior experience from testing or similar work is meritorious
Personal qualities
• Team player with strong communication skills
• A genuine interest of technology
• Able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative
• A fast learner with an analytical mind
