Aurobay is looking for a Senior Test Engineer. Do you want to work in an exciting and challenging environment and develop our test beds for future demands? Then this job is for you! The group, ICE Dynamic-, Emission- & Climate Testing, is a part of the section Lab & Workshop and consists of 11 engineers. The team is responsible for the testing in our dynamic hybrid/combustion engine test beds.
In the test beds, we can replace the on-road testing with a complete vehicle by simulation. This comprises controlling the ambient conditions such as temperature and humidity, vehicle load and driver behavior. All data is sent to the engine and test bed systems in real time to secure exact repeatability. With this setup, the development lead time and cost can be reduced to the minimum and ensures the quality of the test results.
Your main responsibility is to perform these tests from early prototype stages to the final calibration of the production engines.
The daily tasks are very alternate depending on the test performed. The testing varies starting with manual operation to highly automated sequences. You will handle several types of test equipment and measuring devices and work closely with the analysis engineers, mechanics, designers, maintenance staff and colleagues within the group. This can include hands on mechanical work to updating test bed software and advanced system fault tracing.

Main responsibilities
Supporting the daily operation of the test beds
Plan and prepare new tests e.g., from stationary manual tests to complete automated DoE plans and drive cycles
Responsible for test object to rig interfacing
Execute tests and analyze results together with internal customers
Document methods developed during testing
Responsible for quality assurance of test systems and test data delivery
Identify bottle necks and improving the test process by closing knowledge gaps
Understanding of correlation / differences between road and test bed tests
Required qualifications
Experience in hybrid and combustion engine testing with associated equipment
Prior experience in engine calibration is meritorious (INCA)
Knowledge in SW development/programming (Python)
Knowledge of HIL and Testbed systems (dSpace, PUMA)
Knowledge in emission testing equipment (HORIBA, Cambustion, AVL)
M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electronics, Automation or Mechanical Engineering is meritorious
Personal qualities
Team player with strong communications skills
Analytical mind and sense of order
Able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative
A fast learner and willing to spread knowledge to others
A genuine interest of technology
