Description
Our Team:
Reporting to the Director of our Data Solutions, Interface Development and Management (IDM) with local oversight by the Director of Client Support for our Stockholm office, you will be part of a small but highly experienced team primarily located in San Francisco, but with employees aligned in multiple geographical locations. You will be part of an expanding team, well-versed in trading and investment accounting and with years of experience in the art of data transformation. You will be involved with our leading efforts to expand our robust data business to global markets.
Your Opportunity:
The Interface Development Senior Technical Product Manager (TPM) is tasked with maintaining existing Advent Portfolio Data interfaces and building new interfaces that transform trading counterparty data into our product standards. The TPM will be responsible for the analysis of counterparty data specifications and sample data in the development of new Interfaces. Using an in-house proprietary transformation tool and/or a 3rd party ETL solution (Pentaho), you will convert the counterparty data to daily investment position, transaction, and market data files for consumption by our portfolio accounting applications or other proprietary systems. Maintenance of existing interfaces involves working with our Interface Management team to research and correct data issues or adding feature enhancements as requested by our clients and data providers.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Ideally, you will have financial investment industry experience, preferably with in-depth knowledge of investment trading and accounting and hands-on experience working with trading and accounting platforms. You are highly detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to work independently and proactively seek ways to increase your knowledge and skillset to be successful in our fast-paced and fluid development environment. The position does not require a developer's skill set, but the TPM should be technically inclined and comfortable using technology solutions. Some scripting/programming language experience is highly desired, particularly Jscript, SQL, Visual Basic and XSLT. Experience with ETL tools is preferred, particularly one of the more widely used solutions such as Pentaho, Informatica or Talend. Financial services background with a Series 7 certification is also desirable.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our Interface Management team on upgrades to existing interfaces to improve data quality and features.
Analyze, develop and deliver new high-quality interfaces using our proprietary in-house data transformation solution
Successfully research and resolve issues with interfaces as they arise.
Partner with our Global Solutions Management team on pre-sale discovery for new data providers
Provide documentation details on interface functionality
Unit testing of new and enhanced interfaces using in-house proprietary applications
Reconciliation of data to ensure quality of transformations
Maintain working relationships with Advent's partners.
Effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Collaborate on cross-departmental projects.
Proactively research and implement ways to improve the processes and procedures across the global Interface Development team.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across time-zones with the home office in San Francisco
Qualifications:
Experience in data transformation.
Bachelor or Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Advent Certification or comparable knowledge of Advent products.
Financial market data subject matter expertise.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
Ability to solve problems.
Highly detail oriented and analytical
Strong written and verbal communications.
Experience in a software development environment using development life cycle tools: Source Control, Bug Tracking, Build and Release Management
Experience using Excel, UltraEdit, file compare applications and databases to analyze data.
Basic scripting/programming skills preferably using Jscript, SQL, VB, XSLT, Windows PowerShell
Experience with building transformation workflows using any of the following ETL solutions: Pentaho, Informatica, Talend, Adeptia, or other 3rd party ETL
