We are looking for a Senior Technical Leader within Data, Analytics and AI- Enabled Engineering for our Data Science department at our Research & Development center in Gothenburg.

At the department Data Science, we contribute by driving and transforming all parts of R&D and vehicle-related capability and culture by identifying and exploiting opportunities using data, analytics & AI.

What you'll do
As Senior Technical Leader, you will be a key player to secure strategic coordination and coherent drive within research, development, and internal and external collaborations in the complete area of Data, Analytics & AI for engineering, in order to keep and enforce a competitive edge for Volvo Cars.

The role is part of the R&D Analytics & AI eART and you will be working closely with other technical specialists in the area. You will also collaborate with Solution & Product Managers, Architects, and other stakeholders in other ARTs. The role is also responsible to lead research and innovation within in the area and lead our close corporation with the academia and the industry.

You will lead the work of the R&D Data, Analytics & AI technical and research strategy, performed in collaboration with other technical specialists, and connected to relevant business strategies and stakeholders. It is also in the role to drive cross-organizational collaboration and synergy realization within technical research and advanced development, driving technical strategy to support Volvo Cars' business strategy, purpose and leadership change.

You and your skills
We see that you have a university degree as PhD or equivalent, in relevant field and several (10+) years of relevant experience to Data, Analytics & AI. You have experience in leading development projects, teams and people and a good knowledge and experience in agile work and principles (SAFe, VCAF). You have a will to continuously learn and develop your skillset in the area.

You have great communication skills and is confident communicating in English. You are customer focused and used to cooperate with different stakeholders. You have a solid business understanding of utilization of Data, Analytics & AI and have a deep understanding of the multiple subfields involved and how they interact with data creation, communication, storage, analytics & AI (incl. statistics, machine learning, optimization, etc.) and the different phases: from experimentation to data/model/software development, deployment, and maintenance.

It is meritorious if you have substantial previous experience from the automotive industry, experience of driving technical aspects of transformation/implementation efforts and building cross-functional collaboration around Data, Analytics & AI, experience from small/startup and large corporation, and experience from post-doctoral academic research in relevant area.
