Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Control®, Max Payne®, Alan Wake® and one of the leading independent game studios in the world is looking for a Senior Technical Animator/ Animation Programmer to create high quality gaming experiences for the next generation of games.

As a Senior Tech Animator / Animation Programmer on the Vanguard team, you will be at the forefront of creating unique and engaging animation experiences. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of systems and see them through from concept to final implementation, allowing you to make a significant impact on the final product.
Vanguard is a is a free-to-play, co-operative PvE shooter that combines Remedy's narrative expertise and action gameplay into an immersive multiplayer experience. The game is developed with Unreal Engine for PC and console platforms.

What you get to do
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the animation team by implementing gameplay features and developing animation systems and tools. You will work collaboratively with animators, gameplay engineers, and designers to ensure that systems are created in a scalable manner and reduce dependencies on gameplay engineers for animation-specific features.
Additionally, you will help optimize gameplay animation features and develop procedural animation systems. You will also be responsible for improving animation workflows, systems, and tools in Unreal. Covering Root motion, motion warping, runtime rigs, content creation pipeline support, and creating procedural animation systems, ensuring scalability, and maximizing reusability.
Along with the animation team, you will work closely with other cross-functional teams on designing and implementing features, from the conception of a project to ensuring the technical integrity of the shipping titles.

What you bring to the role
You have worked as an Animation programmer or a Technical animator.
You are familiar with node-based animation systems, animation blending techniques, IK systems and overall character movement.
You have an interest in kinematics, procedural animations and motion synthesis.
You understand how animations best work with other systems like AI, and are comfortable working with C++, Python.
You thrive working in a team environment, sharing ideas and learning from others. You are used to collaborating with colleagues across different departments and can communicate and present your ideas clearly and coherently. As a team member you are dedicated contributing towards a friendly and inclusive work environment
You can also work independently, being organized and able to document your work.
