SRK Sweden currently has a vacancy for a Senior Engineer to join our team based in Skellefteå. The role will be to develop a local centre of expertise in Sweden and build a team to support the requirements of mining projects in the Nordic region and internationally.
Work expected to be undertaken
• Review, design, construction and remediation of tailings and waste management structures at all stages of the project including pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design, construction and closure
• Undertaking desktop based studies utilising data and information from a variety of sources
• Contributing to due diligence, third party reviews and competent persons reports
• Design and supervision of mining waste facilities
Our clients include major/mid-tier/junior mining companies, financial organisations and governments.
Requirements
The focus of the work would be in the Nordic region and as such, the individual should have experience of working in accordance with local legislation in one or more of the Nordic countries. Proficiency in a Nordic language is considered essential.
• Degree or equivalent in a civil or mining engineering subject with preferably a higher degree
• Previous experience of design, build and maintenance of tailings storage facilities
• Competent in relevant specialist software including CAD
• 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience
• Track record of project management
• Strong report and proposal writing skills
• Strong communication skills
