The Supplier Quality & Development department, belonging to Group Trucks Purchasing, is driving the global supplier base towards premium automotive quality standards. The department is responsible to continuously improve the supplier base and the quality of purchased parts.
Mission
As Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for automation you will be a key member in both the SQ&D Electrical and Electronics team and in the Automation Purchasing team. You will be part of the journey aiming at bringing the Volvo group a competitive advantage in the Vehicle Automation arena. You are a key player of this innovative journey by developing the ways of working required to cope with the fast pace and agility within Automation and secure that suppliers deliver correct quality at the correct time.
As APQP ambassador you will during the projects be involved in everything from product development to quality assurance of the production lines on-site at your suppliers. As a consequence of successful APQP work and preventive supplier quality activities you will sign off the supplier PPAP allowing production to start at the supplier. The SQE monitors the quality of the development and the industrialization of new products at the Volvo Group suppliers. The SQE is responsible to secure that the suppliers are delivering according to projects specifications and time plans. He / She shall secure that the supplier can produce the parts according to the specification with the correct and sustainable quality level.
Qualifications
Lead and coordinate cross-functionally APQP/PPAP activities for various purchased parts and projects
Be involved in the supplier selection and development work in order to ensure that the requirements are correctly understood by our suppliers and that their processes are capable to produce accordingly
Work closely together with our engineering in order to make sure quality is built into the original design of our products
Develop and monitor supplier quality performance and lead potential supplier quality crisis
Work with the Volvo cross-functional teams to eliminate potential field and customer claims
Contribute to best practice/knowledge sharing in the team
You should have excellent understanding of software and electronics, have an eye for details but also have a good understanding of the general situation in a project, being able to make risk assessments and focus on the right areas. You work in a structured and analytical way when solving problems and have a preventive and continuous improvement mind-set. You must be a good communicator and a multicultural team player, both internally Volvo but also towards supplier management team.

Competence & Experience
University degree in Engineering/Technology and/or Business Administration
Strong and inspiring Leadership skills
Deep understanding of the Purchasing operations
Management experience in an international environment
Proven holistic business mindset
Experience in SW related business
Entrepreneurship spirit, able to create and develop
High level of integrity and trust
Interested in future business trends, technology and markets (experience in partnership creation is a plus)

Relevant competence / experience
Master in Electronics Engineering
Good knowledge of software and electronics and how they are developed and produced
Experience from supplier quality work

Strong problem solving abilities
Strong continuous improvement skills
Interaction with suppliers/customers
