This position will play a key part in further developing new concepts and ideas and offers the opportunity to make an impact on the future development of offshore wind.
For this role OWEC is looking for a ?creative thinker? who is capable of coming up with new ideas and solutions that are relevant and cutting edge to the company?s portfolio. The role carries potential career development into a leadership role and will have high visibility within the organization. An important aspect of the role is drive the development of OWEC?s ground breaking product to assure that OWEC is continuing to be an innovator and thought leader within the industry.
Scope for R&D&I activities:
• Advisor for new Technology
• New methods for analysis and design
• Development of OWEC Quattropod ®
• Benchmark analysis of design and methodology
Work tasks and responsibilities:
• Participate in conceptual design and detail design
• Develop tools and methodology for the structural analyses
• Contribute to design improvements for the OWEC Tower
product portfolio
• Dynamic and static structural analysis (mainly using ASAS, but
other software could also be relevant)
• Load calculations on offshore bottom fixed structures ?
including wave loads and wind turbine loads
• FEM analyses of structural details
• Contact with clients, classification societies and fabrication
yard
Requirements:
• Proficiency in offshore structural engineering with more than
15yrs experience (Jacket design experience is a plus).
• MSc or PhD in Structural engineering background
• Can bring added value to the company from day one
• Good understanding of the physics behind the design (not just
working with software)
• Good at making engineering judgments, focusing on what is
important and finding shortcuts in a design process
• Charismatic leader , a good representative, who can take over
in the long term :-
• The responsibility of the Quattropod ®concept
• The creation of innovations
• The responsibility of the R&D department
