We create software solutions to support clinicians and healthcare professionals in hospitals and healthcare organisations worldwide, and we are looking for a Senior Storage Engineer to join an exciting project across Region Skåne for an integrated digital healthcare environment, replacing hundreds of existing IT systems in hospitals and primary care facilities for a comprehensive solution. The new system includes a service to manage the health of their 1.3 million citizens and a modern digital care system that allows for increased patient participation, safer patient experience, and improved work environment for healthcare professionals.
Cerner Technology Services (CTS) is one of the fastest growing segments of Cerner's business. CTS's primary function is to host, manage and monitor client systems. Additionally, CTS provides disaster recovery and temp hosting services for Cerner clients. CTS' remote hosting option (RHO) provides superior performance, security, reliability, and scalability with a lower up-front financial commitment from the client by combining hardware, networking technologies, and technical expertise. It allows healthcare organizations to leverage the most sophisticated and powerful IT solutions available today from our state-of-the-art data centers.
As a Senior Storage Systems Engineer you will be responsible for the daily, weekly, and monthly activities required to keep a client system running at peak performance. You will work on or lead assignments and projects by designing storage and backup infrastructures and migrations, analyzing and specifying technology opportunities and make system recommendations. It also includes planning, designing, implementing, administering, and supporting storage infrastructure technologies, planning and preparing for disaster recovery, storage capacity, and provide performance analysis. You will be responsible to ensure a high level of storage availability and reliability of storage infrastructure, to monitor storage capacity and performance, provision storage for use, and troubleshoot storage issues as needed, and to support multiple storage and database technologies. Specific responsibilities include performance monitoring and tuning; switch and storage system patch installations, and firmware upgrades; providing advanced escalation support, including engaging supplier support; and server and hardware configuration auditing and improvement recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
• At least 3 years of System Engineering experience
• At least 3 years of Cerner Millenium experience
• English minimum level C1, Swedish minimum level A2
Preferred Qualifications:
*Thorough knowledge of and experience with SAN fabric protocols, SAN routing and zoning configuration, Brocade Switches, HP and EMC storage systems, and various SAN management solutions.
Expectations:
*Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
• Willing to work on-call and irregular hours as needed
